CARAS is a registered charity in London supporting people seeking safety. We work with people of refugee and asylum-seeking background, creating spaces where people can build friendships, access practical support, learn, share skills and feel part of a community.

Our work is rooted in welcome, dignity and solidarity. We believe people seeking safety should be able to rebuild their lives with support, connection and joy.

About Words of Courage

Words of Courage is a creative project co-designed with people seeking safety as part of Refugee Week.

Through workshops with CARAS community members, we explored what courage means in everyday life. The words and ideas shared in those sessions became the starting point for this collection.

Each design carries a message shaped by our community. Every item is made to order, helping us share these words more widely while supporting CARAS’ work with people seeking safety.
